How to Refer

Mediation is a confidential process for resolving disputes and conflicts through discussion, problem-solving, and compromise. Created in 1994, the Conflict Resolution Center of Cabarrus County provides cost-effective mediation services and training to individuals, businesses, and organizations of Cabarrus County.

Mediators help clarify issues and reveal various options, providing neutral guidance to all parties with the goal of reacing a workable and binding agreement. Our mediators are trained volunteers helping to make it a low cost option.

The majority of the services of the Center are offered at minimal cost, with the Center being largely supported by grants and contributions. Support from the community is vital to continue our services.

Example types of disputes:

  • Personnel / co-worker issues that affect the workplace and job performances.
  • Neighborhood problems such as noise, animals, nuisances, or property damage.
  • Youth conduct, including truancy or neighborhood or family disputes.
  • Criminal offenses, such as simple assault, injury to personal or real property, trespassing, communicating threats, etc.

Our goal is to promote the voluntary resolution of disputes between community members in a mutually satisfactory manner and to teach them the necessary skills to do so by utilizing one of the following programs:

  • Conflict Resolution
  • Peer Mediation
  • Resolve Training

The Center is also available for speaking engagements and seminars. Contact us today to see how we can help.
