What is the 'Barbecue, Beer, & Bingo' Fundraiser?

The Conflict Resolution Center of Cabarrus County's first Barbecue, Beer, & Bingo Fundraiser Event started in 2015. We wanted a way to, not only raise funds for the center, but give back to the community around us. We have had many teens, young adults, and families come through our center. Whether it is by volunteering or assisting them in a court case, CRC is there to help resolve the conflicts with several programs & tools. By purchasing a ticket to our event, you help us keep offering tools in forms of books, brochures, and classes to those needing it in our community. We appreciate donations made to help fund our programs like the S.T.O.P program that educates the first time Shoplifters learn from there actions and cope with a shoplifting habit, saving small and large businesses on repeat offenses. There's so much that goes on at CRC and by donating and joining us at our Annual BBB Fundraisers, that's one way to help us keep giving back to you. Thank you!

I'm Interested, How Do I Become a Sponsor?

Cynthia Seaforth is the Executive Director of the Conflict Resolution Center. She began as an intern from Pfeiffer University in Charlotte back in 2002 and studied Organizational Communication and Conflict Resolution, graduating from Pfeiffer in August 2002.  That November she officially came on board with the center under the wings of Jessie Blackwelder as the Teen Court Coordinator. Jessie encouraged Cynthia to learn more about the mediation process and the benefits it has on the community. In 2004, Cynthia completed the mandatory training for the State of North Carolina and has mediated cases in Private Warrant Court for Cabarrus and Rowan counties.

Cynthia has seen the Conflict Resolution Center grow with the community for the past 16 years. She has been apart of every expansion including our Truancy and Juvenile Restitution programs. She has also grown professionally with the center going from the Teen Court Coordinator to Executive Director. Everything she has experienced and what she has learned from Jessie Blackwelder has helped mold her to be the best choice for the position.  In 2019, Cynthia Seaforth was approved by the Board of Directors as the Executive Director.

Can I Volunteer at This Event?

Simply put, yes! We'd love to have adult volunteers to keep things organized at the different stations. The money is always secured by employees or members of our event, this station will not be available to the public. Other stations include drink stations, bingo game organizers, clean at the end, setting up at the begging, and other tasks. If you can only stay for 1-2 hours or the whole event, just let us know on your volunteer application.

For youth volunteers under 18, we do ask for a parent to accompany them. They will be able to help with passing beverages like sweet tea & lemonade to guests, helping clean after the event, welcoming guests at the front, and other things. If you can only stay for 1-2 hours or the whole event, just let us know on your volunteer application.

If you have any volunteer questions, please contact us at (704) 786-1820 ext. 1.
